Hazard Warning Labels
Kanban focuses on effeciently delivering materials to where they are needed, when they are needed. Having proper signs and labels makes that process safer.
OSHA requires that all hazardous materials be labeled with Right-To-Know (RTK) labels. This includes secondary containers. It is also becoming common to label pipes with RTK labels.
A printer such as the DuraLabel PRO can make the required RTK labels, and maintain a database of your labels. The DuraLabel PRO prints die-cut RTK labels using either the NFPA diamond (shown to the left) or color bars. RTK labels are available in a variety of sizes, up to 4" x 6".
Other types of hazards also need to be properly labeled.
A bin may contain components that have sharp edges... requiring a warning sign.
Hazards associated with materials that are hot, heavy, electrically charged, poisonous or otherwise dangerous need to be properly identified using labels and signs.
Preventing hazards from being created is also an important function of labels and signs. For example, safely moving materials and supplies requires that aisles and loading docks be kept clear of obstructions.
The DuraLabel PRO printer has the power and versatility to make whatever type of hazard warning label is needed. From standard vinyl labels, such as the CAUTION label shown above, to labels made with spercialty materials, the DuraLabel PRO gets your labeling jobs done right.
